Registered doctors can still collect CPD points to renew APC 2023

The Malaysian Medical Council (MMC), at its 426th meeting on 17 January 2023, has considered the proposal from the Malaysian Medical Association (MMA), and has agreed to allow doctors with insufficient CPD points for APC 2023 attend a special course in order to obtain the minimum 20 CPD points required by 31 March 2023. For this purpose, MMC is agreeable to appoint MMA as the sole administrator to organize the special course to assist doctors with insufficient points only.

Upon completion of the special course, doctors will be awarded a certificate of completion stating that they have accumulated the required CPD points, which are valid only for APC 2023 and will not be valid for APC 2024. MMC will not consider any appeals by doctors with insufficient CPD points for APC 2023 after the deadline of 31 March 2023.

The special course in the form of a series of webinars will tentatively start on 21 February 2023 and continue for 7 days in total. Attendees will be awarded 3 CPD points for each webinar. Therefore, attendees for all 7 webinars will be awarded 21 CPD points and eligible to renew their APC for the year 2023. MMC and MMA will not entertain any request to appeal and/or special course after the deadline of 31 March 2023.

Any announcement regarding the special course will be made via email blast to all MMA members, MMA website as well as social media such as WhatsApp, Facebook and Telegram (https://t.me/+4lCkAtGJpbM0Yjdl).
