BREAKING THE WAVE: Transition to recovery │ Newsbite Section

After the success of the previous online scientific conference entitled Riding the Wave, Procter & Gamble Health, in partnership with the Philippine Academy of Family Physicians and the Philippine Pharmacists Association, presented the next installment in the series, Breaking the Wave, held virtually from April 28 – 29, 2022. 

This two-day virtual conference discussed four often-overlooked medical conditions which may ultimately affect each and everyone’s daily living and productivity if neglected or not addressed properly. These included diabetes and peripheral neuropathy; iron deficiency and iron-deficiency anemia; the common cold; and sleep deprivation.

The speakers at this event were Prof. Rayaz Malik, Professor of Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College (Qatar); Dr. Arabinda Mukherjee, Professor of Neurology at the Vivekananda Institute of Medical Sciences (Calcutta); Dr. Aimee Andag-Silva, Chief of the Section of Endocrinology at the De La Salle University Medical Center College of Medicine; Dr. Maria Carmen Quevedo, Associate Professor of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Far Eastern University Nicanor Reyes Memorial Medical Center; Dr. Antonio H. Chua, Pediatric Otorhinolaryngologist at St. Luke’s Medical Center – Global City; and Dr. Keith Romeo Aguilera, Center Head of the Comprehensive Sleep Disorders Center at St. Luke’s Medical Center – Global City.
