IMD is a serious and life-threatening fungal infection and its clinical
manifestations are like bacterial pneumonia. Patients with prolonged
neutropenia, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) or severe viral
infection, HIV and CMV reactivation, uncontrolled diabetes mellitus, liver and
solid tumors and receiving organ transplant are at risk of developing IMD. Early
recognition of the disease and providing life-saving treatment will
