An overview of current treatment and limitations in acne guidelines
01 Jul 2023
Acne vulgaris (acne) is one of the most common inflammatory skin
conditions worldwide, with an estimated global prevalence of 9.38%
across all ages.
A Singaporean study found that 88% of
individuals aged 13 to 19 years suffer from acne. However, acne is not
solely the burden of younger patients and may afflict patients well into
adulthood – 41% of adults treated at the National Skin Centre of
Singapore are reported to have experienced acne since adolescence.
