An overview of current treatment and limitations in acne guidelines
Acne vulgaris (acne) is one of the most common inflammatory skin conditions worldwide, with an estimated global prevalence of 9.38% across all ages.

A Singaporean study found that 88% of individuals aged 13 to 19 years suffer from acne. However, acne is not solely the burden of younger patients and may afflict patients well into adulthood – 41% of adults treated at the National Skin Centre of Singapore are reported to have experienced acne since adolescence.
